Sponsorship Details

Sponsors receive prominent recognition at the conference.  Sponsoring the conference is a prime opportunity to reach a new audience and to help establish your prominence in the movement toward local sustainability.

Local Future is currently working with "Foundation Group" in preparing an application IRS 501(c)(3) status in September/October of 2009.  If so advised, Local Future reserves the right to adjust the sponsorship premiums below in order to comply with federal law regarding nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations providing service to for-profit entities.

All sponsorship funds will be put to use to fund conference related expenses including but not limited to: contract payments to speakers and for speakers expenses; rental of conference facilities; personnel expenses including program management, event management, volunteer management, etc.; media reception; speaker dinner; video & audio recording supplies, services and production; conference programs and supplies; snacks & refreshments; provided meals; additional printing expenses and advertising costs.

Expenses for the 2009 conference are projected at approximately $30,000.

Details on Local Future

Local Future is a nonprofit corporation, Michigan Business Entity ID Number 70244A (Corporate Entity Details), IRS Employer Identification Number: 26-1592083.

Local Future is in the process of preparing an application (IRS Form 1023) for tax exempt 501(c)(3) status.  Local Future estimates that the application will be submitted in September or October of 2009.  Once the IRS receives the application, the IRS will take 3 to 12 months to rule on whether Local Future receives 501(c)(3) status, and to provide Local Future with a "Letter of Determination".
